The 2020 edition of the Innovation Week IWA 2020 results were announced for the 15th and last week on Saturday, December 19th. And for that week only, results were unveiled for 23 countries / regions, increasing the number of participating countries to 50 countries / regions.
Thus, this last week participants received 110 “Master of Innovation” certifications and 151 distinctions including:
- « Best Invention in the entire competition» Award: attributed to Liwen Tian from the « Institute of Cash Crops, Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China » and aux inventors Longfu Zhu (China), Lu Feng (China), Yongliang Yu (China), for the invention « Innovation and Application of Key Cotton Production Technology for High Yield and High Efficiency in Oases »;
- « Best Inventor in the entire competition»: attributed to Shang Jianzhong (China) for his inspiring and remarquable pathway to commercialize his amazing invention « Clinical verification and clinical use of ShangRing®—Disposable Male Circumcision Device in Africa » ;
- Grand Prize: attributed to the « Faculty of Engineering, Ramkhamhaeng University (Thailand) » for the invention « Hybrid Microorganisms Reducer Using Ion Corona with UVC » invented by: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siseerot Ketkaew ;
- Semi-Grand Prize: attributed to « Fabricação de veiculos de tracção electrica LDA, Portugal » for the invention « VEECO, full homologated sport electric car » invented by : Eng. Joao Oliveira.
Virustop contest category : launched by OFEED in parallel to the Innovation Week IWA event on March 13th, 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemy:
- Grand Prize: attributed to Eng Abdul Azees Ajmal from « University of Ruhuna », (Sri Lanka) and Wahid Fathima Shahana from « University of Jaffna », (Sri Lanka) for the invention « Non Invasive Screening Tool to Detect Anemia » ;
Young inventors category
- Grand Prize and « Best Invention in the entire competition »: attributed to Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Elementary School (Thailand) for the invention « FunPlosion – Smart Bathroom in the New Normal ! » by 9 to 11 years old inventors: Bharawee Nhongharnpitak, Bhuricha Nhongharnpitak, Kaweewat Santivorapong, Pranrak Baikloy et Yanawatana Krisdathanont.
- Semi-Grand Prize: attributed to Thailand Inventors Club (Thailand) for the invention « ReLeep – A New Lifestyle Technology » by 9 to 11 years old inventors: Chatprapat Baikloy, Napakapol Pitakteeratham, Nonlanee Kittipongwat et Puttipat Kittipongwat.
In four months, the Innovation Week IWA 2020 program, using OFEED WebTV, reached participants from all around the world without any barriers or limitations, giving the voice to inventors and inspiring so many others through the excellent contribution of honorable innovation experts from India and Germany respectively Dr Aynampudi Subbarao and Prof Winfried Sturm. And, the event ends its 2020 edition with a record of 50 participating countries / regions and a total of 1585 attributed certificates, becoming the first didactic event in the world for inventors :
- 845 awards;
- 740 certifications of « Master of Innovation ».
In addition, the event benefitted from a large press coverage worldwide, only in this 2020 edition, with more than 400 press articles published in several languages (Arabic, French, English, Spanish, Polish, German, Turkish, Chinese, Indonesian, Tamil).
